surgery date april3, i'm more scared of what is goin to be after the surgery , i know they tell you what to expect but everyone is different, any info would help

Congrats on your surgery date. But you didn't say which WLS you are having. I just had the VSG last Tues. the 20th. I've already lost 12 pounds. It is wonderful. Good luck and you will be in my prays. Susan

Hey, I must say the RNY was the BEST thing I've ever done for myself!! When you say you are afraid of after the surgery do you mean the recovery process, being able to follow the diet, not wanting to give up food you love? I had an open RNY and everything went great. I healed quickly without needing much in the way of pain meds. You can expect a period of grouchiness the first few weeks but it is SO worth it. I had been warned about no****ching TV while on liquids b/c everything involves food so I read but I never realized how big a part food plays in books, too!! Once you get to chew food things improve rapidly! If you are a lightweight don't expect to lose as quickly as people with more to lose. BTW, where is Simmesport, LA? I haven't heard of it before.
