I had my surgery 3-13-07 my diet is clear liquids low-fat, fat free, sugar free everything pudding, jello, popsicles. I can have low carb shakes. I have never in my life had so much fat free, sugar free. It really don't make me feel all that good I really don't want it I hate the taste of fat free, sugar free together how do you survive the first 3 weeks. What did you drink.

Felicia, have you been to the March 2007 surgery board? There are several of us discussing the clear liquid diets and how we're coping. It could definitely benefit you I think. It's surprising how many others share your surgery date. Mine was 3/7/07 and we've had some good discussion about what to eat and what not to eat... as well as coping with the severe depression that seems to hit during the end of the first week... http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/03-2007/

Sorry, I don't remember the specifics of the beginning diet but I wanted to tell you it DOES get better. The first few weeks are the hardest and like Kat said the depression hits post surgery too. I knew to expect the grouchiness and such but it was still hard. Also, you will lose alot of weigh so that may help you feel a bit better. I just wanted you to know that what you are feeling now is so natural and normal but it will all be worth it. I don't regret it at all. In fact, it was the best thing I've ever done for me!!
