I'm staying with relatives in Denham Springs after surgery. For tonight I'll probably be in New Orleans staying at the hotel attached to my hospital (easier to move to preop/inpatient from there than a 2 hr drive first). SO, anyone who wants to come visit me in the hospital is quite welcome! I will probably be on the 5th floor of the Main Hospital (Ochsner New Orleans). You can just ask for me by name, and I'll post my room number later tommorrow afternoon. I also hope to have a crawfish boil sometime right before I leave to go home again. So I will let you guys know if that happens.

I'll be having the Laparascopic RNY with Dr. William Richardson at Ochsner Hospital New Orleans on tommorrow (3/7/07) I can't wait!! (but I sure would be happy to wait to start this stinking bowel prep).

Good luck to you! I had Dr. Kennedy on 1/22/07. The nurses at Ochsner were great, but be prepared to stay in Recovery awhile. Maybe it was just the time I was there, but I stayed in Recovery for 28 hours because they said they didn't have a room. Then they put me in a semi-private, even though there were empty private rooms. I think it's a lack of nurses and other help which is understandable since it is New Orleans post-Katrina. Anyway, my experience there was still good, in Recovery you get one-on-one attention, but it's more difficult to get up and move like you should. I'll be thinking of you--Good Luck! Jen

Good luck I had the lap RNY on 2/23/07. I am on a clear liquid diet 2wks post-op I HAVE LOST 25PDS YEAH! I feel Great. I have had no pain since 6 days post-op Frances Shreveport, LA
