attention!!!i need help!!!!

I am dr. bellangers patient. i have blue cross/blue shield federal. i was denied the Sleeve Gastrectomy but approved the RNY. BCBS denied the VSG as "experimental". Should i hire a lawyer to appeal this decision? does anyone know someone who appealed one wls and got approved another?

I would suggest you talk to an attorney. I don't know of anyone that got an approval after being denied a procedure based on "experimental" status, but I bet the attorney would. There's a great attorney that advertises here named Greg, and he's also a WLS patient. I am kinda curious why you would choose a VSG over the RNY? I know that everyone has to choose what is right for them, but as a nurse I don't know of any advantages that VSG has over RNY and would be interested to know. Kat
