I wanted to know if I take my gallbladder out ,can I still have the lapband surgery? I have not gotten approve for wls,but just found out that I have gallstones. I will be having gallstone surgery anytime now.The lapband,have not got approve yet. God bless....

Sure you could still have the lapband surgery...as a matter of fact, it's probably a great thing to have done prior to the surgery because many people experience problems with their gallbladders after these types of surgeries. Tina

The doc will probably suggest that you wait 6 months, possibly even a year. That opinion will depend on the doc... FYI, I had my gallbladder out in May 2006, and in only 5 more days (YES!!) I will be having my RNY. Only 10 months after the gallbladder. I would NOT step from one surgery into the next without at least a 3-6 month space between.... That being said.... any way to get the lap band moved up and have them do both at once? Kat
