Acid Reflux

I had lap band 9/1/06 and so far I have been very pleased (lost 40 pounds), but for the last week I can't seem to sleep all night. I wake up with uncontrollable coughing and fluid either fills my mouth and I wake up and have to spit it out or it shoots through my nose. It only happens at night when I'm sleeping. As long as I'm awake I'm fine. I'm wondering if when I'm sleeping I'm snoring the snoring triggers it. I've been sleeping almost sitting up on lots of pillows. I saw the doctor and he gave me Protonix 40 mg and Metoclopramide 10 mg. I have taken them for a few days now and nothing has changed. I just need to get some real sleep. Has anyone had this?
