Hello and welcome! Wow, I have a hard time imagining why anyone would want to leave Key West, but, that said, welcome to Louisiana.
I currently live in Slidell, which is pretty close to Gulfport (I used to commute from there to the VA in Biloxi). DH and I are rebuilding in the New Orleans area. I don't know much about Lake Charles, but just wanted to say hi and wish you a smooth and easy move.
Hi Sara! I am a Bariatric Coordinator and postop patient in Lake Charles. Our program has performed about 650 procedures and there is another Surgeon in town who has performed about 250. So, needless to say...you won't be alone. Women & Children's Hospital in Lake Charles is the major Bariatric facility here and they have a great support system for postop patients. Our program (Dr. Chung's office) holds support groups on the second Thursday of each month. They are at 6pm at Women & Children's Hospital. Dates are rarely changed, but in March, it actually will be moved. So, give us a call 337-433-1303 or e-mail me through OH.com to confirm. Congrats on doing so well and see you soon.

Hi Sara and welcome!
I'm in Baton Rouge, but I was born and reared in Lake Charles. I hope you enjoy my home. I would like to vouch for the awesome folks at Women and Childrens and another local practice. Lake Charles can be warm and comfortable and I hope you find it that way. Look Marcie up -- she's a gem.
All my best,
Frances
Hey everyone - the support group at Women and Children's this month is on the 14th (Wednesday) at 6pm. Usually, they are held on the second Thursday of the month, but Dr. Chung is out that week. This time, we will be talking more about the Gastric Sleeve, an up and coming procedure to Lake Charles. Even if you've had the Bypass, Band or DS, it's good to know about other procedures so that you can discuss the differences when it comes up in conversation or you see it on TV and print. Everyone's welcome! Come on and join us.
