HI Cindy ...welcome!
I'm right now the road from you in Baker. There's a possibility that we will have a lap band lunch support meeting going soon. I'll keep you informed.
I don't want to give the hard sell because there's lots of great doctors in the Greater Baton Rouge area. If you are interested in attending an informational meeting with Drs Karl LeBlanc and Mark Hausmann, we will be meeting on March 1 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
There are other programs in Baton Rouge and I just met Dr. Taylor at Lane Memorial in Zachary. I was extremely impressed. I know or know of all the practices in South Louisiana. The most important thing is finding the right practice for you. Let's put our minds to it and get this journey started.
Onward!
Frances
(oh yeah, I started almost exactly 100 pounds heavier than you are now -- band works!)

I was hoping you would respond... i was checking out all of your info and you may be just the person i need...I went for a sleep study Sat night and am a little unsure about the results but hopefully it will show what they needed...what time is the meeting on March 1st...I have to have it done at Vista that is what my insurance said...Any more info you can provide will be great... I have never been skinny...was in a 18 by the time i was 15 so really excited i have two daughters and just am ready to do something for the rest of my life
Be blessed!! Cindy
Hi Cindy, both of the doctors I mentioned perform surgery at Vista. I had my surgery at Vista and I really liked it there. I had to return for non-related surgery a couple of times.
You can ask all the questions about location and insurance to Amy at 769-5656. She's the bariatric coordinator.
I've had a sleep story and I have sleep apnea. There was very evident breaks in my breathing as soon as I fell asleep. What are you unsure about? Let's keep talking.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Frances
Cindy,
I just wanted to say hello and welcome to our board.
My best friend had the lap band done 3 years ago. So far she is doing good. I had the lap RNY. I did not want to have to keep getting the fills. So I had the bypass and don't reget it at all. I know when it is enough and that is it. I am almost 18 months out and I am down 90 pounds.
I hope things go smoothly for you...
Take care,
Chrissy
