surgery 1-22-07 with dr lavin

surgery on monday, very nervous and anxious. i am nervous about post op pain. i am also feeling overwhelmed with all the vitamins i will need to take. any other dr lavin patients out there. he seems to be great , hope you all had good experiences

Dr. Lavin was my surgeon and I would recommend him to ANYONE! Not only is he a great surgeon, but he's a wonderful person. I had an excellent experience with him. He has great bedside manner and answered all of my (and my husband's) questions. What type of surgery are you having? My post-op pain was very minimal. Best of luck to you.

Debbie, my name is Chrissy. Dr lavin did my surgery at Lakeview in Covington. I love Dr Lavin. My post op pain was hardly any at all. The only pain I had was the night of surgery but once I got up and started waling the pain went away. I have not had any problems at all I am 16 1/2 months out. Dr Lavin was very good with me. the pin and response to it is very individual,i had had c section before , so for me my lapro rny post op pain was minimal..... as for the vitamins , reallly its nothing, a muli, some calcium, a b vitamin , thats it , then iron 1 or2x a week ,its a simple habit to get into , if youve been on the pill before its no different you will be ok , good luck tommorrow

Debbie--my surgery is on Monday also. I'll be in N.O. at Ochsner with Dr. Kennedy. I'm nervous too, but also excited. Sometimes I'll feel very calm, other times nervous. We'll make it and I'm sure all of this will just be a distant memory soon. Jen

Hi I am also going to go with Dr. Lavin, but I am just starting my process. I have nothing but good things about him. And from all I read about him and he has done over 1,000 rny's and that is good in my book. enough experience.I wish you the best. Lynn how long did it take you before you got to talk to one of the advocates? I called this morning and hadn't received a call back as yet and it's 5 pm. He must be a very busy doctor.I went to a seminar last week but it wasn't his it was another surgeon but I wasn't to please with that one and I seen that Dr.Lavin was on my insurance and that he had done over 1000 of the rnys so I said that he must be very good.
