I can't believe this has happened to me!
HI all! Just calling in for some prayers. On Dec 29 I was in an accident. My husband and I were in the kitchen and a friend of ours came in and told us that there was another prowler in the neighborhood. My husband, being the macho guy he is, said "well I have something for him" and he proceeded to take his pistol down. I told him Jonathan put that gun away. He did and as he was doing that it went off and hit me in the face! It entered just at my left nostril. I turned to him and said. Oh my God, you shot me! and then went to the floor. I was conscious the whole time and the injury is to my sinuses. I was in the hospital for 3 days. I had to have 2 units of blood. (So give when you can) I remember telling the ambulance people, "I can't beleive this is happening, am I dreaming?" The police came and it has been deemed an accident, which it totally was. However Jonathan was arrested for negligent injury and will go to court Feb. 26. One of our friends is a policeman and he said it would probably be thrown out because the investigation found it to be accident. My husband is beside himself and I am in pain with all the pressure on my face. You cant tell I was shot in the face at all and I am back at work. the days are tough toward the end of the day but I am trucking along. I will need some surgeries later after all is healed so I am just hanging on with the headaches. I am thankful to be alive and Jonathan is having a rough time but we are ok. It is by the grace of God that I am ok and my children are ok. One day my life story will be a Lifetime movie of the week! I have been through the "what if's" phase and was mad at Jonathan for a day but the Lord is in control and is helping me heal those thoughts and I can't think about the 'what ifs" because this has happened and we must learn to move on and trust in the Lord that He will guide us in the right direction. Jonathan has been in the military and has been around guns his whole life. But you can be overconfident and that is when accidents occur. So please be careful.
Hugs to all!
Peggy
Oh by the way...this accident was able to get me back on track. I have lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks!
Peggy:
WOW! You have really been through such a traumatic experience. I am so glad that you made it and are back in action! I cant even imagine how scared you must have been. I will be praying for you and your husband and family. It is amazing how quickly accidents can turn our lives around in seconds. God was with you and has great plans for you! Good luck and stay strong. Congrats on losing 9 pounds the hard way!
