Post op appt.
I went for my 1 year post op appt today, yes it is a couple of weeks early. I weighed 129 on his scale and that was fully clothed. I did take my boots off, since they are a little heavy. He said I was doing great and did not need to lose anymore weight. Gosh, I have never been told that before.
I added some pictures on my profile, just scroll all the way down. They were taken when I was 11 months post op. It is time to take some more. Will do that when I am officially 1 year out.
I have really decided I am a child of the 80's I always have big hair going on. It does not seem that big when I look at it but gosh in the pictures it sure does poof up.
Hugs,
Jodi
Hi Lynn,
I have no secret and I don't excercise like I should. I do plan to change that. My doctor and I talked a great deal about that yesterday. I really need to do some toning for my arms and legs. Overall I don't have alot of saggy skin but a tummy tuck and breast lift would do wonders. I needed that before I gained all my weight just from having babies. I do walk but as far as anything else I am bad.
I really eat just about the same thing every day.
For breakfast during the week I eat a slice of whole wheat bread with a piece of ham.
Midmorning I have about 10 pretzel and some peanut butter
Lunch is a Weigh****cher dinner, I find one that is high in protein. Some times I may have a salad with this. Just depends on if I want to leave the office to run to Wendy's.
If I have an afternoon snack it is peanut butter crackers or the pretzels and peanut butter, sometimes I might have some yogurt.
Dinner is usually some kind of meat and cheese and a veggie.
In between I drink my water.
On the weekends, I usually will have an omlett for breakfast with ham and cheese. It will take me a good hour to eat it. Actually I eat my breakfast and lunch at work at my desk so I stretch it out to about an hour to eat. I don't know if this helps or not but I don't shovel it in like I have done in the past.
I basically try to stick with the Weigh****cher food plan, I had gone to some meetings since my surgery since it does keep me focused. My surgeons office is starting back with their support group meetings so I plan to attend those as well. I feel like the more meetings I go to the better I can do as far as keeping me focused and not falling into poor eating habits again.
Ok so I rambeled on a bit. Sorry, just letting you know how my day is.
Oh one more thing. Seems like the times I stalled were times when I ws not eating as much as I should. I found out at my 6 month appt that I needed 1200 calories and it was hard but as soon as I increased my calories I started to lose again. Just make sure they are healthy calories.
Jodi,
Thanks for all the info. I work out at the gym 5 or 6 times a week. I think that I am not eating enough calories for the amount of exercise. I am eating about 1000 calories a day. 390 calories of that is for 2 protein shakes. I am trying to eat more but my pouch seems like it is still so small. I get so full so fast. I eat peanuts in between meals to add calories. I also don't drink enough. I am trying but I can only sip as my stoma probably needs to be stretched. I don't want my stoma stretched because I am afraid that the doctor would make it too big. Thanks for all of your help. I am really go to work on increasing my calories and water.
