MANDEVILLE and METAIRIE: more questions...

Hi, everyone! OK, so based on the "NO Area" thread responses, it looks like we ought to hold "meetings" in Mandeville and Metairie. I was thinking we could plan to meet once a month in each town, with meetings 2 weeks apart, so that there can be some meeting in the area every 2 weeks. For example (and this is just an example, because there are still more details to iron out), we could meet in Mandeville on the first Thursday of every month, and in Metairie on the third Thursday of every month, adjusting for holidays, etc. So, that said, I have a few more questions. 1. Which type of location would you prefer? A. Public library meeting room, where we would bring our own refreshments (the library in Metairie actually has a little coffee shop). B. Coffee house, where we would buy our own refreshments. C. Some place with counter-service "real" food (e.g., La Madeleine), where anyone who needs to get dinner (such as people who are coming straight from work) can do so. In Metairie, the food court at Lakeside can be an option along these same lines. 2. How about times? The St. Tammany libraries close at 8:00. If we're not planning to meet until 6:00 or 6:30, would that give us enough time? Alternatively, would you prefer to plan for 5:30 or so, and then everyone can just get there whenever they get there? 3. Is there anything else that we should consider? Thanks again for your input! -Nowal

Hi! Thanks so much for organizing this. I'm in Covington and there are plenty of coffee shops around the Mandeville area. Starbucks is usually too noisy, but there's a PJs and a CCs which are both pretty quiet. I prefer someplace I can buy food because finding time to prepare something to bring would be difficult. Or we could just make it a little later (after everyone's had time to get home and eat). I'm pretty flexible. Thanks again, Jen

I would definately go to the Mandeville meeting and time does not matter to me. A coffee place sounds great, but I will show up no matter where it is. Thanks, CJ
