Can you please help me....

My mother that lives in Shreveport called me today. She has been looking into surgery for awhile now. She is a type 2 diabetic and wants to loose around 75 pounds. Her Dr is all for it, and recommended the lap band, but she wants to talk with someone who has had the surgery and has been in a similar situation. Like being a diabetic. She wants to know what happened after the surgery....did you still have to take insulin and such? She's having a hard time with it now...she has a pump and it's malfunctioning and messing up her sugar......... I told her that I would post and see if anyone responded.....

According to the first site, 86% of gastric bypass patients had improvement in and 76.8% had complete resolution of Type 2 diabetes. I don't know what the stats look like for Lap-Band.
