We are now post op fromthe 24th OCT 2006 with feeding tube due to a leak that did not seal completly with second surgery. Home with protein of at least 80mg daily with Ensure to help speed healing. Did a trial blue test last night and no blue dye in the bag...soooooooooo things are looking up.

The leak seems to be healing...the hubby is having a really good day and feels great today. Yesterday was a bad day..he did not hurt..just felt bad...lot of stomach pressure, but woke up today feeling wonderful...can hear the strength in his voice. The last 3 weeks has been really hard on him...seeing the daughter breeze through her surgery last summer and having all the trouble with the leak and not eating for the past 2 weeks....hope he can start his liquids again this weekend...We are behind on recovery which seems like months...but only been 3 1/2 weeks....seeing the light at the end of the leak tunnel....He is even looking in the freezer to cook the family something! How exciting is that..when last week I had to cook outside on the grill...he could not stand the smell of any food cooking....
