almost there!!!!

ok so here goes... all i am needing now before we can submit for approval is, my recent letter of medical necessity. i went to my pcp last thursday only to find out that i have been FIRED from the practice. well imagine that. somehow a bill was submitted to my insurance company and they did not pay $50 of the bill. i was never sent a bill from the dr's office to pay this. so i asked if i could pay it thursday and they told me that it had been sent to the collection agency... mind you we are only talking about $50. when i asked why i had not been notified of the bill, they told me, "we sent you a certified letter", i replied i never received such letter, then they opened my file and low and behold there sat the letter, unsigned for, the receptionist ATTEMPTED to tell me that it was refused. i NEVER received any notice of this letter at my address. well i be danged if they did not have it sent to the wrong address!!!!!!!!!!!! so i am fired from the practice for a $50 bill that i never received. so i came home and i started calling around to find a new dr that i could go to asap. found one that is closer to home and a female. i just hope that she will give me the letter of medical necessity so i can submit for approval!!! say a few prayers for me, i go tomorrow at 1:30 pm. i have been on this emotional insurance roller coaster for so long now i am about to just scream! but the good news is that i now have medicare and have all the paperwork that i need to get this show on the road for medicare. so with god willing and the creek dont rise, and a new pcp i hope to have all my paperwork into dr merriman by the end of the week, and submitting for approval next week!!!! and from what i have been told it does not take long to get approval from medicare. so maybe a christmas present for me, i hope!!!! one word to anyone having insurance problems, never give up, i have been trying for 3 years!!!!! i hope that everyone is doing well, i sure miss talking to everyone on the board. has anyone heard from kat??? she seems to be mia!!!! hugs to all, will update soon as i get some news. god bless, lori

Lori, Hi, I am using Dr. Merriman too. I went to his seminar he had here in Alexandria a while back. I just got my papers in to him on Nov 1st. I called last week and they said they were on his desk for review. I am sorry you had so much trouble from your other pcp but maybe it won't take too long to get the paper work from your new doc. Maybe we will be band buddies. LOL Good luck to you. Brenda

Hi Lori, I'm so glad that you are determined and focused on your goals. I have Kat in my cell phone and I accidentially called her Friday while trying to reach my sister (Kathy). She is doing very well in her new home in the Dallas area and wanted to wish all who asked about her well. She does miss us a great deal, but it's time for her to focus on her journey and goals and she seems to be as determined as ever. Lori, honey.... don't give up.... things are darkest before the dawn.... .... nope... done that's my best one... and it is SO true I had retreated... I had given up hope.... I kept going with the motions because "oh well, I should try to lose weight anyway, right?"... And 2 weeks ago, I finished all the 6 months supervision etc.... did ANOTHER MMPI, and we got all the paperwork together to resubmit. so don't give up.... I can identify, I've been trying for 3 years also. Kat
