I got my band 6 mos ago.65 lbs down but today I started having a dull burning pain in my upper stomach where band is. Not unbearable just uncomfortable. I called doc on call and he said to take prevacid, mylanta, etc. As long as no more symptoms just eat bland diet and let stomach rest. Give it a chance to heal if there is a problem on its own. Anyone else had this problem and what happened to you???? Thanks, Teresa

Hiya Teresa, I'm in Baker too! When you say upper stomach, do you mean upper abdominal area right under your ribs and in the center? The band isn't there, but that's where the heartburn and GERD problems show up. With the band, the pain+"some other problem" is a usual bad sign. Like burning pain and acid refux. Burning pain and nausea, Burning pain and can swallow solids or heavy liquids. As you creep up on your level of optimum restriction, it's easy to get "too tight" and have to back down a little. I can't tolerate a lot of fluid in my band and I've gotten unfilled a few times. Being too tight is just as bad as being too loose. Just right is the only way to go. So, don't feel bad about getting an adjustment if the pain doesn't get better or if reflux or acid show up. Refluxing acid is a major sign that you need How much fluid to you have and have you had any throwing up of PBing? I'll be checking back and I hope the next time you post, you are feeling much better. Onward! Frances
