Hi I had my surgery on oct 19th with dr chu in lafayette I live in jennings I know very few people that have undergone WLS and those are people I met in the office I would like to here from anyone who has had this surgery every day I face something that only another person whose been in these shoes can understand I'd love to here of anyone in the area who can chat

Welcome!!! My rebirthday was July 24th, lap-RNY. Yes it's easier to talk with others who have had the surgery. The forum can be a great resource. Is there a support group in your area or with your Doc's office? Take care! Bejai!

Hi Britney...I new too!...my husband has surgery the 23rd and 24th with Dr stevens..dr Chu's partner..we had a leak and went back to surgery and was doing ok and had another leak the 1st of Nov...home again after 12 of 14 days in the hospital in Lafayette. Home for us is northeast of Alexandria. only can have ice chips and eating with a feeding tube with ensure type liquid poured down the tube. My daughter had the surgery last summer and is a size 10 now and is so beautiful. She went to a wedding over the weekend and stopped by with her cute little dress and looked so good! She is 27 and my husband is 54. Hoping his leak seals soon so he can have something by mouth. He is very sensitive to smells and I cook outside the last two days. Hope you was in and out of the hospital in the 3 day peroid. You must be on full liquid diet by now. Your doing ok with that..I hope you do as good as my daughter did. She breezed throught it..having dumping with only dairy products. Let me hear from you.

Hi is your daughter a nurse? The reason I ask is because I think I had my first two nutrition classes with your husband I'm also a nurse and I'm 24 y/o and he was talking about your daughter I can't believe he is having so many problems did they find the leak with the blue ice test or the upper gi? I bet yall are glad to be home how much longer before he gets tested again to see if his leak has healed yall are in my prayers I was lucky I had surgery on oct 19th Thursday am and was home Saturday night I can't tolerate protein supplements but all else was going pretty good until this past Saturday I then started vomiting everything bu****er it feels like it gets stuck and then up it comes I called dr chus office today when the nurse called back she said to drink a protein smoothie not much help I have an appt tomorrow she said if it continues it could be a stricture please let me know if I can be of any help I bet he is so weak I am struggling with fatigue but it probably doesn't compare to what he is going through
