I have heard that the base at Fort Polk now has a water aerobics class. Any exercise program that is structured in a group setting is always a good idea because it is encouraging and helps with mood as well, since you get a feeling of comradery and accomplishment. Brooke (another girl in our office) and I go to spin class, which is worse than a novacaine-free root canal, but I always feel great afterward, it makes a huge difference in my muscle tone and I never get bored. Strength training and repetitions of targeted muscle training is fun, too because now that alot of the fat has dissipated, you will see the muscle tone more easily and that is incredibly encouraging. Pilates and Yoga are great for the mind and body, but newly found bony projections (like hip bones) can make rolling around on those thin mats kind of painful. There's my rundown. For what it's worth.

Curves!!! I love curves and i go 3 to 4 times per week its the best and its fun. Only women are allowed to go so thats a plus and its not boring. They weigh and measure you once a month so that you can track ur progress so far i have lost 19.5 inces in 2 months.

Hi Marcie, How is your weight loss coming? I don't have any suggestions for excerise as I am afraid I don't do any. Hoping that once I have surgery and start losing I will be able to.

Hi Brenda. My weight loss has plateau'd as I have reached goal weight. I started out at close to 200 at heaviest, 188 going into surgery (after two weeks of Atkin's and liquid preop diet) and now weigh 108. I am only 5'3", so it fits me pretty well. I started in a size 18/20 and now have a hard time finding size 0 or 1's. Some problem to have, huh? My weight fell off in the first 6 months, so I didn't exercise. I started exercising at 6 months to tone up the muscle lost during the first 6 months. It came back really quickly. I am very proud of my health and appearance now and it's the best shape I've ever been in, even during cheerleading and danceline in high school. You'll be here before you know it!
