I had my surgery in Dec of 2003! Within the last 9 months I have gained 25 lbs. I am so worried I will regain all of my weight. Did anyone wlse have this experience. If so what have you done to lose the weight again. Also, does anyone know of a surgeon in Shreveport that will do the excess skin removal for free when it is donated to the burn unit of a hospital. I currently do not have a job or insurance and I was just wondering. Thanks!

Don't give up! That's the first rule of WLS. Then it's get back to basics so I'm told. I'm only one year out and haven't gained yet but have it a big plateau. I've finally gotten myself back onto protiens and veggies, leaving the starches behind. And to tell the truth I don't miss them as much as I thought I would. Anyhow, good luck. Keep in touch! Thanks Peggy. I have been eating alot of chicken and veggies. What kind of exercises are you doing. I don't have the money to go to a gym.. Are there certain exercises that I can try at home. What are some good lower abdominal exercises?

I try to walk but right now I am remodeling one of the rooms in our house. This takes up all my energy at the moment. Up and down on my knees cleaning the cement floor that I'm going to be staining. When I'm done I'm going to add a pretty gold picture of something in the middle. Keep your fingers crossed that it comes out good. This room is going to become my art / writer studio, an office of sorts to call my own! I always thought one of my kids would eventually move out so I could use their bedroom but alas I think they're here to stay. And if they ever to leave, I'm told they always come back, so..... Anyhow, keep on movin' to lose. There is always the exercise programs on television! I used to do Denise Austin. She's great! Peggy B.
