Quite Board
Where is everyone? Have you all been lurking like I have for the past 4 months?
I understand.. Wasn't sure about writing on here either. Just figuired it was time to try to get some action on the Louisiana board.
What did you eat today? I had the following:
Breakfast: vanilla protein shake made with skim milk
Snack: light mozzarella cheese stick
Lunch: homemade lean cheese w/ ff cheese slice melted in it.
Snack: another cheese stick
Dinner: since I am going to Dr. Chung's support meeting, I will probably drink a protein drink when I get in.
Gotta head outta here & get some work done... :horse
Lator Gator

Hi Polly That's ALOT of cheese!! Just be sure that you don't constipate yourself. I couldn't eat that much and still maintain normal bowel habits!
I'm officially 11 months now and I'll see you tonight at support group, if the rain doesn't wash us away first. It's an important support group topic, so I'm glad you're going.
My food today:
Breakfast: a Diet Rockstar energy drink and 1/4 of a colache
Lunch: 2 ounces of tomato based soup and 1/2 chicken breast with a few potatoes
from Olive Garden.
Snack: 2 twizzlers
Dinner: 4 pieces of a cucumber/crab sushi roll from the mall.
Snack: I'll have a little cup of chicken tortilla soup at the support group.
Today wasn't the most nutritious day. I'll do better tomorrow
Hey Jude (whoa....isn't that a song? )
Yes, anyone can attend. We actually encourage it. We have patients of Dr. Spiegel, Dr. Shimer, Dr. Kreitz and Dr. Naaman that attend at current. We always discuss issues central to any weight loss patient, so it's a great thing for patients both before and after surgery. Last night was really nice because we were able to all offer support and guidance to a patient that is about 2 months out and having a really hard time adjusting, by sharing our experiences. It's neat to hear the milestones that people have at 3 mths, 6 mths, 1 year, 2 years and so on. It helps to remind ourselves how far we've come as well as to know what to expect. I can't say enough about support groups. THEY'RE AWESOME.
And, Polly - I noticed you weren't there. We missed you, but the weather was just too yucky to drive in, cheesy woman! See you next month, I hope. I'm going to try to get the hospital to have some turkey coldcuts in honor of Thanksgiving
It was great (sorry, not to rub it in your face). We never actually got to the planned topic of "Binge Eating", because we were all having such a great time sharing milestones and bumps in the road. We even had a patient there that was 2 years out and shared with us what to expect. Talked alot about the changes in our interpersonal relationships (spouses/family/coworkers/friends) and how that makes us feel...you know...like those guys that will now open doors when before, they would have been perfectly happy to let it slam in your chubby face....I HATE THAT. (sorry - no offense to any of the perfectly mannered men on the board, of course)
We'll catch you next time.
Lay off the cheese!
