18 Month's Post-Op
WOW! I believe I can fly! It's been a year and a half since my surgery and I must say what a ride it has been. There have been many trials and tribulations along the way but, I have always told myself one word....BELIEVE!
I was in a size 26 pants and a 30 shirt and I stand in utter amazement looking at my size 6 pants and S/M shirts. When I do laundry sometimes I think someone's clothes got mixed up in mine, then I realize...hey, that is mine and I simply smile. When I started this journey I wanted to be a size 14 and would have been happy with that. I am proud to say that I passed that goal. I have lost more then I weigh and now weigh 2 lbs more then I did in the first grade, I would have to say that is a HUGE accomplishment.
This journey can be the beginning of the end (battling obesity) or the ending of the beginning (a new life) however you choose to look at it.
I have met some very strong and courageous people along the way and for that I am grateful. God has blessed me ten fold with all of the relationships I have built through OH and WLS. I could not have done this without the support of everyone here.
If your journey is just beginning remember to always stay true to yourself and keep your eye on the prize, you can do it. I encourage you to go out and rise above the rest. If you have completed your weight loss remember, this journey is NEVER over, it is simply beginning and new things are in store for you as you continue to emerge. We are all butterflies and now is the time to fly.
Love,
Gina

Hey, girl! I am so proud of you. You have met and surpassed your goals and you are beautiful, Ma'am! I am so jealous. I've been trying to lose the last ten pounds but they stubbornly are sticking to my ribs. Come walk with me every day and keep me motivated, okay? "thumbsup:
When you come to town for a visit, Lindy, you and I need to get together, maybe take in a movie or something. We could even go out and grab a sandwich, splitting it three ways. Hopefully soon!!!
