Dr Bellanger???
There are criterias to pre-qualify for the surgery. The staff at Dr. Bellanger office has not been a pleasant experience. They seem to contradict themselves and do not return calls as they promised. I have heard great things about the Doctor but I am worried his staff will drop the ball and I could be denied. I want knowledgable advocates that are willing to go the distance with getting me approved and I do not get this from his staff. I am looking at Dr. Lavin office as a second choice.
I've heard pretty much what you described, but the good thing is that you do have lots of good options. Here in Baton Rouge, I would suggest Dr. Karl LeBlanc or Dr. Louis Martin. Dr. Martin works out of Vista since Katrina, but his office was in New Orleans before. Dr. LeBlanc is my surgeon and, surprise, I think he's absolutely wonderful. There will be a new patient seminar on November 3 and I you could come with me if you like. The support group meets right afterwards. If you want to talk to Amy or Genie in the office about your insurance process, you can call them at 769-5656.
I have heard really good things about the Lavin group and I have several friends I know through this board and the OHLA support group that are very happy with them. I wish you all the best in your journey.
Onward!
Frances
