Calling all WLS friends! I am bored with my meals and drinks. Tired of cheese sticks, peanut butter crackers, turkey and ham slices. I've found myself reverting back to old habits. Especially tired of diet koolaid and diet iced tea w/lemon. I know how to fix the problem mentally but need some new meal ideas. Over the past few days I've found myself grabbing french fries and a diet coke for lunch then popping a Resin or Bit-O-Honey for a sweet treat in the afternoons. These are the bad habits that got me 100 pounds overweight in the first place. HELP!!! Looking for suggestions for quick on the go lunches, yummy snacks that fill the need for a sweet treat, and interesting suppers. Luv y'all!!! You are super friends! Peggy B.

If you like shrimp, I have a great recipie for a shrimp soup that has big chunks of everything in it. For snacking, you could make up a batch of peanut butter or oatmeal raisin cookies using splenda and whole wheat flour (for the pb ones). Yougurt is good with a little granola in it also. You could also make pasta dishes using the Dreamfields pasta, it has a much better, more digestible carb count in it, and tastes the same as regular pasta. I made it last night, and it was great! I also buy whole, natural Almonds and toast them in the oven at 250 degrees for about an hour, the are a wonderful snack too. Lunches are hard for me too. I usually make up a wrap, using chicken salad and lettuce, a few pimento slices. Of course, it is too big for me, so I cut it in half and have it for two lunches. Hope this helps, and if you would like some dinner recipies, email me and I will send you some! Cindee

Thanks for the suggestion about cookies. I haven't tried cooking with splenda yet but will soon. I found some egg rolls that are high in protien that I can pop in the microwave. Also bought some chicken in a can that I can make sandwiches with. Also bought some already boiled shrimp I can sautee real quick. Mmmmm.... Oh, and pecans and yougurt. I'm trying to avoid pasta as much as possible because I tend to overeat on the stuff if I make it. I think thats why my weight loss has slowed down now. Anyhow, thanks for the ideas and I'll send you an e-mail with my address. I'd luv your recipes. Peggy B.

I've been eating salmon & tuna on the grill & salads. I buy salmon individually wrapped @ Sam's (marinate in terreyaki & olive oil for 20-30 mins) & throw on the grill I get the spring mix at sam's & make a daily salad to bring to lunch w/me. I add Feta cheese, bacon bits, nuts, croutons, egg , red onion & use light done right 3 cheese ranch. It is delicious! I love my bean soup recipe too. All it is...is: 1 can mexican rotel 1 can broth (beef or chick) 1 can refried beans 1 can black beans 1 can of chili beans throw all together in pot & heat & serve. I like to put sometimes some gr mt in it & sprinkle a little cheese on top & sometimes some fritos. Or you can eat just plain old refried beans w/cheese & salsa (or wrap it)

I have to admit I don't like much fish. Makes me gag now. I do like red snapper and shrimp. Today I bought some already cooked shrimp that I can toss in a pan and stirfry real fast. Was buying feta cheese for my salads but got a stinky batch this last time so decided to find something new to try for awhile. Your bean soup recipe sounds delicious. I'll have to try it sometime! Thanks!!! Peggy B.

hello peggy, I'm 4 years out on 10/22 lost 170+/-. meals are always a struggle for me. Mostly because I don't ever really get hungry, and with 3 kids now, I don't have time to get hungry. I do snack alot and that's not good. I do have a recipe for you though. Portabella mushrooms: serves 2 2 meduim to large portabella mushrooms, cleaned and the black ridges scraped out. 1/2 bag of picsweet seasoned squash, tomato, and onion mix (found at walmart) divided over each mushroom. 15-20 medium shrimp(you can use them raw, or boil slightly before placing on top) divided over each mushroom. sprinkle of tomato basil greek feta cheese (check dates good on package) bake in oven @375-400 degrees for 20-30 min. (toaster oven works well too) serve with grilled fresh green beans or asparagus topped salad.
