We need your prayers. As a few of you know, Mason has Asperger's (Autistic Spectrum). He is going thru a lot right now, seeing different doctors, therapy, etc. He is trying to learn to ride a bike.........he now has a theraputic 3 wheel bike. He was riding it for the first time yesterday. He actually pedaled for the first time! It was joyful and tearful. My heart hurts so much for him right now. I should be happy that I got some answers today, but I am hurting and confused. Mason saw a Genetisist today. After 2 hours of talking to him, we decided what genetic tests to do on him. He agreed with everything that i told him, which made me happy. You see, I have been researching to find answers to Mason's medical dilema since he was a toddler. We now have some answers and will receive more! The tests will take about 3 weeks to get results back. Then we decide if we need to do more extensive testing. The doctor did say that the syndrome that Mason has, is not caused by the mother or the father, at conception or in utero. What makes Mason different is.......that is what GOD intended for Mason. This was all in HIS plan. He is SPECIAL in all ways. This was the plan. I have to remember that........it is a good thing. God has plans for him. Mason has marked 'traits' or features that are different and the Doctor saw them immediately.........things that no doctor had noticed or questioned. Even things that I had asked about, they were not concerened with. I am not saying that his pediatrician in AL was wrong or at fault for not seeing this, because I really like that doctor, but these things were just not caught by the doctor even when I questioned them. I won't go into what all that was discovered, but if you have questions, please ask. I will post more when I know more. It just hurts to know that something is wrong with my child. My heart hurts. Love you all, Lindy Please, please PRAY for Mason. He is in pain at times and going thru so much. Thank you.

Lindy, my heart and prayers go out to you. We have dealt with the misdiagnosis of my niece's rare genetic problem (De George Syndrome). My sister's insistance & determination is what saved this child. She has faced many challenges, but does so head on! Frankie is now 11, mentally she is about 6-7. Prayers going up for Mason, you & your family. Hugs, Carolyn

Because of everything she went through she was able to help me deal with my child and his autism and u will someday help someone in the same way and be an angel on earth to that child and someonelse !GOd bless u and he watches over our children and sends angels everynite to kiss them on the forehead !

Lindy, I have a 12 year old son with Asperger's and I know it can be trying at times, esp. when attempting to get the proper diagnosis. I have gotten a tremendous amount of support from Families Helping Families and Autism Society of Acadiana. They can help you develop an IEP appropriate for your child and they deal with the entire spectrum of diagnoses. I'm located in the Acadiana area and this is the address for Families Heping Families http://www.fhfacadiana.com/ and you can find an Autism Society in your location at http://www.autism-society.org I can't even begin to explain the amount of information and support I have gotten from these two organizations! You're in my thoughts and prayers. Feel free to email anytime, us Aspie Moms need to support each other! Anne
