MEDICAID ROAD BLOCK

Hello everyone is there any surgeon in the state of la that will take medicaid for WLS. Please any leads would be helpful thanks!!

Trici, Dr. Ordoyne no longer accepts medicaid. Luck for me i went to a seminar May 15. so they honored that and still will do my surgery. I'm waiting for Medicaid approval. Seems like i read a post from earlier this yr about a doctor in west Ms that accepts medicaid not sure though. Might be a good idea to post the question to the mississippi board. I am from North La no surgeon up this way accepts medicaid alone, will accept only if you have medicare or another insurnace with it. I wish you luck with finding a surgeon. Zadie

Yes I do have another insurance bcbs but they will not pay for wls no way shape or form I had an appt with Dr. Martin in Baton Rouge but they said that bcbs would have to pay for some portion of the surgery in order for me to be seen so I'm back to square one

Hey ! I think u can try a Dr.chung ! ask around and see but I think I was told awhile back he might take it.Sorry ,for not being able to help anymore but Dr.Ordoyne stop taking medicaid patients because he was getting to back up !

Hi - I work with Dr. Chung and unfortunately, I can tell you that we do not accept Medicaid for Bariatric Surgery. I am not aware of anyone in the state of Louisiana that currently does accept Medicaid. Best thing to do is to contact your caseworker to inquire if they know of any Surgeons accepting it currently.

Sorry I just thought about something that was said to me when I visited Dr.Ordoyne .Call and ask for Rhonda and tell her u live in hammond and see what ur told .He told me he might try to help people if they live in the covington area with medicaid, hammond is not that far from there ! But they have a seminar on this monday 18th at St.Tammany hospital for 6 pm.,the doctor attends and his staff ! Maybe this will help u !

I spoke to Rhonda in Dr. O's office last night. SHe told me to have you call your Medicaid office. She said there is a Dr. in the New Orleans area doing the surgery and they can give you his name.
