JEWELRY?
I had a question.I'm pre op ,my surgery on November 6th...I bought a 17" necklace and a size 8 ring kinda as a gift to myself after losing all the weight.I cant fit in a 17" necklace or a size 8 ring now....My question is do people usually lose weight in the fingers and neck? sounds crazy i know ,but my fiance and i was hoping we didnt spend all this money on these pieces and then the dont fit after all is said and done.. thanks guys...yall look wonderfull!!!!!!! One more question how painfull is the surgery really? i survived a c-section wasnt that bad... and i survived katrina now that was bad but im still alive..But really i hear the gas pain is the worse is that true? Thanks you guys, Stefie
You will lose weight in your fingers and your neck. I had to have a 21 inch necklace and can now where a 17. And my ring size was a ten and I can now where a seven.
I'm sure its not worse than a C-section I don't' know because I've never had one, But I do know it wasn't that bad for me. A lot of soreness to begin with but after a few days I felt fine. Just make sure you take your pain meds on schedule don't let them get completely out of your system before you take more because that just makes your body have to start over.

Stefie, DH and I celebrated our 5th anniversary with new wedding bands (we both lost ours in the flood), and I got mine in a size 8 with the same expectation.
As for the pain, I personally didn't find it that bad. The gas was worse than anything else, and even that wasn't really all so bad, and pain meds made it much more tolerable. Maybe I've just got a freakishly high pain threshold, but I was off all pain meds on the second day after surgery.
Yes, your ring size will go down. Last weekend I just about lost my wedding rings. I had them specially made after I had been married for a few years. Got to increase the size of the diamond quite a bit and used a ring with saphires that my parents gave me. I like to have freaked out, the ring is so sentimental in so many ways. I have several rings that my husband has given me over the years that need to be resized too. I am finally able to wear my original wedding set, it is so small and plain compared to my other set, can't wait to get them resized.
As far as the surgery, I used very little pain meds in the hospital. They nurses thought my pain pump was broken. I didn't use any pain meds when I got home. I did have gas pain but as long as I walked I was ok.
Take care,
Jodi
