Self-pay prices in Louisiana

I was wondering who has the most affordable self pay prices in Louisiana for the weight loss surgeries. I am thinking of Lap and Rny prices?? Sue

The MISI group in Baton Rouge offers self-pay prices at 12,400 for lap band and 18,500 for the RNY. There are more affordable prices if you want to drive out of Baton Rouge. I'm not sure of the exacts, but you may want to speak to someone in Lavin's office in Slidell and Covington. I recall it being around 2K less than the figures in Baton Rouge. Call around and see what you can negotiate. There are good surgeons in Lafayette and Lake Charles in South La. and two groups in Shreveport. After care and support settings are not always included, but many practices around here offer excellent support and patient education before and after surgery. It can be the difference between success and failure for some. It's like buying a car going self-pay, consider everything included in the package, not just the final price and a little prayer never hurt before making a final decision. Wishing you well, Frances

Self pay in Lake Charles includes cost of Surgeon, Assistant, Anesthesia and Hospital. It also includes all preoperative visits and postoperative visits for 2 years (barring any complications) RNY: $21,500.00 Lap Band: $14,100.00 These are the costs for Dr. Keith Chung and Women & Children's Hospital.

Check with Brenda Wallace with Dr. Shimer's office in Lake Charles, too. Not sure how much he charges for self-pay, but he's an awesome surgeon! His office number is 478-2327. E-mail me if you'd like more info. Peggy B.

I had insurance: me,myself,and I, ha, ha, serious note, i went to Dr. Lavin in covington, whyweight.com, 18,900 for rny, no problems whats so ever, He is a great surgeon, let me know if there is anything else you need. rhonda
