SURGERY SOON

Well, since I canceled my 7/17 surgery when my son chase romero broke both legs in mx race2 weeks before my surgery......My new date is approaching fast!!.....I hd been getting depressed anxiety attacks & just plain nervous.....I started praying to deceased fr. Francis seelos & he must have carried my prayers to heavin.....A feeling of calm has been with me since.....I'm looking forward to getting the hard weeks over & to start on my journey to a new life....I'll keep everyone posted on my experiences......Can't say enough about the qualified staff.....Lisa rn....Mary nutritionist.....& dr phillip gachassin @ laf. General....I know I'm in good hands

Hey Karen: Just wanted to say good luck and god bless for your surgery. I'm from New Iberia also, but live in New Orleans now. My mom is still in NI so I'm there every couple of weeks or so...in fact...I'm going this weekend.

Thanks so much for the reply.....I need every blessing I can get.....My blue cross is not paying so I'm hoping for a complication free surgery.....I'm on low carb to shrink the liver prior to the surgery & have actually lost 10 pds........Hope this diet keeps me complication free......I'm ready to get over the hard 1st month & start throwing clothes away!......Wish I could meet you this weekend, but I'm catering a wedding sat. At the inn of iberia.....I'm off for 7 weeks after to recoup from the 9/11 surgery.....Thanks so much for responding.....Hope to meet you one day......Karen romero

I looked at your profile and noticed what you had to say about the insurance. Its not BCBS per se that is refusing the surgery. The exclusion is elected by the company through which you get your insurance. Your company decided to exclude WLS from their policy. Many people do have surgery through BCBS...I'm not saying its easy, they do make you jump through the loops....but they will pay for it. I know other people who have had exclusions that have had some success in talking to their HR department at work and see if they would be willing to add WLS to their policy or make an exception for you. Since you're having surgery so soon, it may not be an option, but you could talk to your HR person and just see what they say. I will be praying for you to have a complication-free surgery. You will be having surgery on the same day I'm going to see my surgeon, hopefully for the last time before they submit to my insurance company. You will do great in surgery and I may get my good news on the same day. Yippee for us!! Maybe we can keep in touch...it would be great to know someone that had the surgery and can let me know what I'm in for. Again, good luck with everything. Angela
