I had rny on 8/02, I am down 34 pounds, but I feel tired all the time. Most protein makes my stomach upset. I have no energy, problems getting liquids still not up to the amount doctor requires, I am taking mutli vitaims, calcuim, Right now all i can tolerate is jello, popsicles, water, thin mashed potatoes, broth and some soups. I don't seem to know what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks Ivy

You are a little over three weeks post op, this is when I felt like I had been hit by an 18 wheeler. I was still on liquids and did have a hard time getting my fluids in too. Every day I did better than the day before. I honestly don't know how people can get in 64 ounces + that early on. I was lucky to get an ounce every half hour the first two weeks and then went up to 2 ounces but it took a lot of work. I don't think you are doinng anything wrong. I promise it will improve it is a day to day adjustment. The only protein that I could stomach early on was sugar free carnation instant breakfast with non fat dried milk. It was not a lot of protein but it was all I could do. At about 4-5 weeks I was able to get some GNC 100% whey protein down. It did take work but it eventually happened. Give it a little time. Wishing you the best, Jodi

Try a B-12 supplement you can get the liquid drops at Wal-mart just hold it in your mouth for a few minutes then swallow it. Drink something with it though because it doesn't taste that great, but it may help with your energy level. And you have to get that protein in that is so important. It will make you feel better when you get it in. Have you tried something like profect. It is only 3oz and can be finished pretty quick. If you don't get your protein in you won't feel better. I still feel weak and tired at eleven months out if I don't get my protein. I hope it gets better for you. Tina
