newbie here...protein question

What is your favorite protein power/shake for after surgery and where can they be found the cheapest? Your replies and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

My favorite now is Nectar Roadside Lemonaide or the Nectar Carribean Cooler. I think I pay about $32.00. I also like the Unjury. I buy the Nectar locally at Drug Emporium. I also like the GNC 100% Whey chocolate caramel. Sometime I will buy the Stallone pudding, it is kind of expensive but I like it as an extra treat. Wishing you the best, Jodi

Yolanda, My favorite is NOT EAS, is NOT Atkins --- My favorite is Slim Fast LOW CARB, which is much different from regular Slim Fast, and can only be found in some stores -- it comes in a BLUEBOX and only comes in VANILLA and Chocolate. It comes 4 cans to a pack and Albertson's has them buy 2 for $10 -- which is 8 cans for $10 which is about $1.25 per can and the chocolate is REALLY good -- The vanilla is okay but I prefer the chocolate!! I also tried the ISOPURE but didnt like the taste too much but did like the ALPINE PUNCH which isnt too bad- I think it was about $2 - $3 per bottle but its packed with protein -- Hope this helps!!!! Yolanda, I get my protien from the Vitamin Shoppe I have found they are the cheapest. I buy the Nector Caribean Cooler too Like Jodi. I also buy the Pro Complex in Vanilla, or Rocky road.If you don't have a Vitamin Shoppe close to you the dod have a web site. it tis TheVitaminShoppe.com If that is not it then it is VitaminShoppe.com. I found that most of the Nector flavors are really good I like the Cooler, Roadside Lomenade, and the Iced Tea ones. Good luck with everything and let us know how it goes. Chrissy 226/142/135

Hi Yolanda -- These are my favorites -- 1. Nectar Roadside Lemonaid - I get it from bariatriceating.com for about $26 for a 2-lb. can. I have found theirs to be fresher than those from other websites. 2. Matrix 5.0 Chocolate - you can make this as a cold shake but I prefer to make it as hot chocolate - also from bariatriceating.com or other sites. 3. Stallone protein pudding - very expensive if bought locally but drugstore.com often has specials. All of those are 100 calories for 20-23 grams protein per serving. The Slim Fast Low Carb chocolate shakes are good too, although higher in calories. You may have to hunt around but you can probably find them in local grocery or drug stores. Good luck! Judy
