Hi! Another newbie here. Kinda long.

I'm so glad I found someone in this area *****cently had a weight loss surgery! I have no idea where to start! I talked with my PCM about it and he agreed it was an option for me. But now they took away my PCM and I'm under Family Practice with no PCM, is that happening to everyone? What is the first step? Where do I start? Is there a certain doctor I need to see? I could really use your help, or anyone here around Fort Polk. I really want to get a weight loss surgery, but I am so nervous, confused, and scared. Please help!

Call the appointment line and tell them you want a referral for gastric bypass surgery. I saw Mr. Horn. He's P.A. and a really nice man. You may get an appointment with a doctor though, but maybe you could try and request Mr. Horn. Bring a list of all the diet attempts you've made in the past with you to the appointment, as well as your medical history, such as how long you've been overweight and such. I got approved to see Dr. Chung for my consultations within a few days. My first appointment with Dr. Chung was on a Thursday and Marcie called on Monday to say I was approved for the surgery. It was that quick and easy. There are so many of us at Ft Polk who have had weight loss surgery and have gone to Dr. Chung. A support group for Ft Polk has been formed and we should be having our first meeting soon. There's a MySpace page for it and an email [email protected].
