My husbands insurance Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana denied me of the surgery because it is not in my husbands insurance plan. He is willing to change our insurance company just for me so I can have this surgery. What are some excellent insurance companies that won't give you the run around?

All insurance companies cover the procedures if it is purchased. Companies have the option of different types of coverage. I have seen some companies that won't cover pregnancy. We had coverage once that would not cover well baby care. They covered thier birth but once they were born the hospital cost was my responsibilty unless they had problems. It is all in the plan your employers chose. Your best bet is to look at the different policies that are offered. Just because Bluecross covers it for one does not guarantee it will be covered for another. Again it seems the more you pay the better the coverage may be. It is very unfair because in the long run they pay for the issues that surrond the being overweight. Wishing you the best. Jodi
