support group in N.O. area?

Hiya all, I am now living in New Orleans and looking for support group meeting. Are there any out there? I have had the DS but would go to any of them. Please let me know times and days. Thanks!!

Hi Nancy: I was asked about the one over at West Jeff on the Westbank and here is the information I found out: I got the info from a nurse friend of mine who's had the surgery with Dr. Thomas, who is the bariatric surgeon there. The support group meeting is open to anyone and she said its quite informal, but that they have anywhere between 20 and 75 people that go there. They do have presentations usually at each meeting. It is on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the gym in the Health Center right on the WJ campus. She said that it is in one of the classrooms in the gym area. Also, the surgery group I plan to be using has the following support group: LOCATION: The Surgical Specialists of Louisiana Office, 4th Floor Omega Hospital 2525 Severn Ave Metairie, LA 70002 Free parking in garage, take elevator to the 4th floor. Our office is immediately to the right of the elevator doors. Time: 6pm-715pm Facilitator: Renee Boyer (Renee is masters prepared in Art Therapy and has 10+ years of experience in group and individual therapy with an emphasis on eating behavior and self-image therapy) I know one of the doctors in Surgical Specialists does DS, so I'm sure they have some DS patients that attend.
