I am a month post op tomorrow and I have only lost 20lbs!!! The 20lbs was in the first 2 weeks. So I have been stagnant for the past 2 weeks. I am excercising, and eating fine. I have had no vomiting, slight nausea. I am getting really depressed.

Are you drinking plenty of water and drinking your protein? A boost in protein can help kick start weight loss. Tina

Hey my girl! I know some people hit a small plateau between 2-4 weeks that will last a week or 2 than all of a sudden you've droped 5-10 pounds in a week. I did that at about 4 weeks out I was stuck as I call it for about 2-3 weeks than all of a sudden I lost like 5-6 pounds a week. You may have to increase your protien and your liquids too. That is what they always tell me at Dr lavin's office. How are you doing with your mashed potatoes. Also you might be in what they call starvatin mode too. That can be depressing and very upseting. I know I would and still do get mad and upset when I hit my stalls. I have been in one for about 3 months now. But I only have 10 pounds to go and I know that will be the hardest to lose. Call me tonight I will be home or I'll call and check on ya Love ya, Chrissy

I don't know how i am suppost to get more protein. I am doing a protein shake in the morning, hardboiled egg for lunch string cheese for snack and depends on the night, but sometimes i drink a protein shake at night. I am doing my gazelle usually 5 nights a week. I am doing fine with mashed potatoes. I have even tried the boiled red potatoes. This is really getting to me, because u know everyone asks ok what is the total now, and i have to tell them the same. I just want to break the damn scale.

Make sure your protein is totalling at least 80 grams a day!!! That is probably the most important thing for you right now! Don't get discouraged though, I know easier said than done....but hang in there! It also depends on how much you started out weighing....I used to compare myself to others and then I realized I couldn't do that because people have had different surgeries than I have, our doctors techniques are different and people's weight started off different from me! I am not sure my protein is at 80g/day. Is there something that is going to give me major protein?? The drinks I am drinking are only like 15-20g/protein per drink. I started out at 250lbs. I wasn't as large as some, but too me 250lbs was awful. I had the gastric bypass. I go see my doctors again on the 23rd I am hoping someone will say.....this is your problem, this is the solution.

Lauren, My nutritionist says 60-70gms of protein is sufficient -- I do not know how some patients get 80 grams in. I know that I am doing the LOW CARB, NOT THE REGULAR Slim Fast Chocolate shakes and they are phenomenal and have 20 grams of protein in each shake. I have tried the ISOPURE and just dont care for it. In Mandeville there is a Nutrition Company or Franco's that has NitroTech protein drinks -- they have 1 or 2 grams of sugar per BOTTLE, which is what the LOW CARB Slim Fasts have -- The NitroTech is 230 calories whereas the LOW CARB SLIM FAST Chocolate has 190 calories and the Vanilla has 180 calories ---The Nitro Tech has 45 WHOPPING Protein grams and Slim Fast has 20 -- I drank a few and they werent bad at all and I got 45 grams of protein in with the NITRO TECH !! Hey....did you meet with a nutrionist/dietician. Mine actually wants me to get 90 grams of protien in a day. I used Body Fortress Whey Protein from walmart. It's 20 grams per serving. She told me the best to use is one that had at least 20 grams per serving. Also, I'd use 8 ounces of milk which is 8 grams of protein and then I'd also use 1/3 cup of powder milk which is another 8 grams, so there you have 36 grams of protein per shake. I'd have two of those a day. Plus I was eating different broths and fudgescicles which have 2 grams of protein in each one. I also you the gladiator mix from smoothie king, which had 45 grams of protien per serving. You started off as a lightweight, which is what Jodi considers herself. And many others that don't have over 100 pounds to lose. Jodi has done an incredible job with her journey, I'd really talk with her if I were you because ya'll are a lot in the same boat. Myself, I kinda followed Tina's pattern....she is a great role model to me! We started off at almost the same weight and had the same surgery, same diet after surgery and so on! Girl, in the past couple of months I haven't lost but like 15 pounds.....so I know how discouraging it can be! I kept blaming myself for eating wrong foods and not exercising and just recently I've lost 5 pounds in a couple of days. Before you know it....you'll be at your goal and so happy and proud of yourself!! Hang in there!

Lauren, If you go back and read the posts from 2 weeks ago, when I was 4 weeks post op, I was griping and complaining that I too, had only lost 20 and was at a plateau, exercising FAITHFULLY every single day, drinking 2-16.9 oz of PROPEL flavored water and 2 protein drinks a day .... and I can tell you I WAS FRUSTRATED... this lasted about 2 weeks and then BAM, I woke up and I had lost 4 lbs OVERNITE... do NOT get yourself frustrated.....You are doing great I am sure and will continue to do great....keep up the exercising.... SIP .... SIP and SIP some more water and watch the scale in a few weeks... MAKE sure you email me and say... Steph you were SOOO RIGHT !!! My personal email is [email protected] -- Stephanie
