Question
I guess I'm with Tina on this one. I read alot of OH message boards and did a lot of research before I decided to do this surgery. I pretty much knew what to expect, and was not surprised by anything that happened. Welcome to the boards, its a great place to glean information. Good luck to you!

I had an insurance fight of 18 months on my hands...so, I continued to research the whole time...not too many surprises. Just be sure to research each and every option. Listen and consider what you doctor has to say but, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH...YOU, not the doctor, will live with your decision! Even if you have to travel for the surgery or doctor of your choice...do whatever is BEST FOR YOU!
I did have one surprise the day after my DS surgery...I gained approximately 25 pounds OVERNIGHT...couldn't even wear my underwear! Of course, it was gone (plus some) before I left the hospital! I had lap DS surgery 4 years ago this month...YES, I would do it again!
After watching me, my 65 year old mom had DS about 2 years ago. Doing great. Now my 27 year old sister is hoping for insurance coverage (her husband changed jobs this week) for surgery...she weighs about 400+.
So, if you've tried everything else...surgery can offer hope and a new life!
