Texas Banded Louisiana Home and need a surgeon to do my fills!

Hello Louisiana board. I was banded in Houston December 28, 2005. I have moved home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have had little to no success with the "lapband". I wish I would have had the RNY surgery, but because of concerns my surgeon had for me surgery wise he didn't want me to have the rny. I don't have the discipline to be a bandster. My surgeon thought I did, but maybe I put up a good front in the surgeon's office. I haven't had a fill in months and I need to find a surgeon in Baton Rouge who will do fills for a reasonable rate. I didn't consider that as far as band maintenance when I was banded. I wish I could finance RNY surgery now. I'm going to try and make this band work if I can. I've only lost 20lbs and I'm devistated. It's been almost 7months since banding. If you know your surgeon's fill prices please send them to me. I also need to find a support group that meets more than once a month. I know i'm going to need all the help I can get with this thing. Thanks for any and all responses.

Hi Ebony: I'm sorry I can't help you too much, as I am a pre-op awaiting approval for surgery, but I did want to welcome you back home to Louisiana! Sorry you are having so many problems with your banding and I do hope you can get things worked out. You may want to check out Fraces' profile. She lives in B.R. and has a surgeon there that she really likes. She has been banded and also has a blog. Hi Ebony, and welcome home. I don't know about the fills but I think Dr. Karl Leblanc will do them. I don't know about his prices though, but I'm sure Frances can help you with that. Our support group here only meets once a month, but I have started trying to get people together for dinners and such. I live in Denham Springs, LA and would love it if you came and had dinner with us one night or day. I'm usually pretty flexible. I don't work right now and my son starts school in a few days. Hi Tina. I'd love to get together. I live off of I12 and Sherwood so i'm not that far from Denham. I'm a teacher so i'll be going back to work in the morning and we get the students back on Thursday. We'll have to make plans to meet. Thanks for the invite!

I'm planning to sub at my son's school this year myself, but right now I'm not working. So I'm always free, at least until they start calling me to come work. But we can always plan an evening. I'll be posting one soon. Tina
