This a really weird question, but hope someone on here has had this to tell me.
Ok, the thing is I have noticed since the surgery I have had so terrible odor. I can't get rid of it. I get out of the shower put deoderant on and a little later i can tell that i smell. This is so embarrassing!!!! I am thinking maybe it is just toxins being removed from my body, but not sure. Can anyone tell me if they have had this problem and what did they do about it???
I have experienced that!!! YES...it was embarassing!!! I changed my soap and deoderant! I was told that it was toxins releasing. I didn't like it at all! I'm six months post op and don't experience that anymore. For the first two months is when I had noticed it! I just used a lot of powder and body sprays while it was going on. Hang in there, it should go away before you realize it!

I used to always use caress soap (the original peach colored one) i switched to safeguard with antibacterial stuff in it. I'm now back to using caress soap though. My washing powder, I always use Gain or Era, I usually would switch up between the two. I tried using Tide for a while, but after it ran out I went back to my Gain and Era. And for deoderant......I used soft and dri, switched from that to Degree, still using degree just because I've not run out of the stick yet. It's oxygen something is the scent of the deoderant. It smells good.
From what I've been told, it can come through your breath also!
I used a whole lot of bath and body sprays and used a lot of shower to shower powder the pink container. I still use the powder because with it being summer time, I feel it helps to absorb some of the sweat. I even put it in my shoes.
Good luck........if I would have known from the beginning that it was the fat toxins coming out I more than likely wouldn't have switched anything, I probably would have waited for the spell to pass.
Oh and this is wierd too, but I also noticed a different smell with my urine too....I havent really paid much attention to it lately though. So I don't know if that is still happening or not!
Part of it may have to do with being in ketosis. (If you've ever done Atkins, you probably know all about ketosis, so I won't bore you with details.) Most people describe the smell of ketones as fruity and sweet, but in an unpleasant way (like almost-rotten apples), and describe the taste of ketones as metallic (a psychologist I know described it as "diesel," but I've got to wonder how he would know what diesel tastes like!). So if that's what you're smelling (esp. in your breath and urine), it's probably ketosis.
