Tell me something ..... I had surgery on 07/12 -- 3 weeks ago and am down since PRE-op only 23 or 24 pounds -- I was worried because my last period was 06/24 but today I finally started -- I have been at the same weight for 8 days now and I am EXTREMELY frustrated -- Yes I am walking 30 mins a day and if I am not walking, I am swimming laps in the pool -- YES I am getting at least 48 oz of water in PLUS my 2 protein shakes and about 2 oz of tuna or pureed baby food in a day -- Is this normal? I am REALLY frustrated this week -- I am going back to the Dr on Monday and feel as if since my 2 week post op where I lost 21.4 and NOW I only lost 3 more pounds is devastating.... did this happen to anyone??? a plateau so soon??? Yes, it is very normal. At three weeks I stalled for about two weeks. I had even gained a bit. I knew I was the failure, the one it failed on. Well, guess what? I reached my goal at 71/2 months post op. I promise when you stall you will be losing inches. Most people would commit to me during my stalls that they could tell I was losing weight. Just hang in there, this does work. Take care, Jodi

Hi, Stephanie! This must be the dreaded Week 3 Plateau that everyone talks about. Keep up the good work, and it will pay off!

hi, don't look at it as a plateau, your body is going thru massive changes, i would go 3-4 weeks with nothing drop, doing walking, eating right etc, and then all of a sudden drop 7-8 lbs, thats how it did and is still doing for me... don't get discouraged, you will lose as long as you don't eat the old bad foods, i will be honest, i don't do a lot of exercise, and i still lose, good luck, rhonda

23 or 24 pounds is great!! You are doing fine.... it will come off... I lost about the same as you in the first few weeks, and now, I am 3 mos out and have lost 64 lbs. Don't worry, it will come off!! You cannot fail at this point, your tool is working you right now. Later, after a year or 18 mos, you will need to work the tool, but right now, your doing fine!! Good luck!! Cindee

Stephanie, I'm glad you got responses indicating this is normal. I would also suggest -- to avoid being SO frustrated -- only weigh once a week, on the same day and time. Your weight can vary so much from day to day -- water retention, period, whether or not you've pooped, time of day -- this way you can get an accurate gauge of your WEEKLY loss without getting quite so frustrated. Of course when weeks go by and there is no loss it is still frustrating. I have been a slow loser so I can certainly relate. Just remember it WILL pick back up again! No you haven't maxed out at 24 lbs down! Also talk to your dr about drinking more water -- a lot of folks are told to take in AT LEAST 64 oz. a day. Spread out over the day of course since you can only take in a little at a time. Hang in there judy
