Problem -- requesting help
Hey you guys,
Just have a a question or two for you guys. I am 18 days post-op lap RNY. I have advanced from liquids the first week, to adding protein drinks to now pureed. Today I had a protein drink for breakfast, yogurt for mid-morning snack and lots of water. Around lunchtime I began throwing up. Im not throwing up anything of significance, mostly clear liquid. My stomach is hurting and its going up into my esophagus and my stomach is burning as well as my esophagus. I am not throwing up massive amounts just small amounts but I am hurting and it comes in waves. Any idea what this is?
Stephanie
I know that this is "kinda late" to reply. If you were in trouble, you'd be in bad shape by now, but I just had to write and tell you that if you have not called your doctor, do it NOW. It could be a restriction or an ulcer or any number of other things. I could be nothing serious, but you can NEVER be too safe. Toooooo many things can go wrong with this surgery to "fool around". Hope you are better by now. Let me know!! Hugs, Pam
Stephanie, I hope you have called the dr by now to be sure it's not something related to the surgery itself. It sounds like it could be from eating too fast. You have to take it really slow. Even five minutes in between sips of water (or whatever) is not too much time, until your pouch is completely healed.
good luck and do call your dr if you haven't already
Judy
