Meeting in Metairie?????

Hi all, This is a post from a reply to Shannon Coleman. Do we have anybody else interested in an informal support group in the New Orleans/Metairie/Kenner area at a Starbucks or CC's or someplace where we can just sit and chat and get to know each other and support each other sometime this week? I think we all need someone who completely understands, sometimes. I really had a nice time at the one in Mandeville the other night and would love to meet some of the people on this side of the bridge too. We had 5 people at the Mandeville gathering and had a really good conversation. Tracey even brought her children. So, if nobody else minds kids, neither do I. Any plans wanna be made? Suggestions, please!!!! Debbie

I would be interested in going and meeting some new people. However, I wouldn't be free until the latter part of the week. Would this be an evening get-together like last week? BTW, I vote for Starbucks. Tricia 274/190/160

I am certainly free to come as well. I had RNY on 07/12 and am getting around very well, sleeping on my side, using no pain meds, cleaning up a bit around the house, folding clothes, even drove to the pharmacy this morning to get some Milk of Magnesia. I even took it upon myself to walk today for 12 full minutes and at a brisk but not too brisk of a pace. FEELING GREAT but as JOdi said.... in many of her journals... I AM THROWING THE SCALE AWAY !!!! Stephanie

Hey Debbie, I would love to come. And hopefully this time nothing will get in the way. I vote for evening, after work. On Monday, I am going to go to the meeting at the Omega Hospital. It is 6:00-7:15. Would you or anyone else like to join me? However, if you all plan to meet on Monday, I will be with ya'll. Actually Debbie, I was thinking about calling you about this very topic. I've been outside weeding my garden. It is so over due. I haven't really done anything bu****er since my surgey. And during the 2 week LD, I just got so lazy and had no energy. So there you go, the weeds are like hedges right now with flowers sticking out! Talk to you Later(call me if you want) Debbie

Debbie, Where is the Omega Hospital, and who did your surgery? I had my surgery on 12/16/05 at Ochsner but would love to attend other support groups. Linda

Hey Linda, Omega is on Severn, behind the LandMark Hotel, close to the service road. I went last night and it was nice. It's every Monday from 6:00-7:15 and it doesn't matter where you had your surgery; everyone is welcomed. I had mine in Baton Rouge with a group that was at Touro pre-Katrina. Hope to see you there or join us at Star Bucks to meet informally. Debbie
