JUST AN UPDATE

Hey everyone! I had my egd on Friday...3 words...Peice of cake!!! I am still amazed how I don't remember the beginning, middle, or the end of the procedure...It was painless, I was first case and I was home by 8:15 a.M.. I was told later I have a small hiatal hernia, but it is nothing that requires fixing. Anyway I am down 22 pounds now pre-op, I need to be down 30 pounds prior to surgery...Wish me luck!!!! Vanessa 18 days till surgery!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember my first EGD and thanks to a so called friend I was terrified. She told me how terrible it was and just went on and on. I should have known not to trust her cuz she loveds to make a big deal out of nothing. You know one of those that everything bad happens to. She can't even have a simple blood test with it being a big ordeal. Anyway on Friday she told me how bad it was and I was scared to death. I told my husband I could not go through with it. He told me otherwise....I had it done and like you I don't remember anything except waking up and telling the doctor to put me back to sleep cuz so I would not feel anything. He assured me it was over.....Yes, a piece of cake. I went back to work and told her she needed to keep her negative remarks to herself cuz I almost cancelled the test because of the fear. This was over 5 years ago. Congrats on your 22 lbs, you will get the other 8 off. Wishing you the best. Hugs, Jodi

Nessa, Congratulations on your loss!!! I wish I was as devoted and had the will power you have. I have lost like 5 in my pre-op state and I have 3 days before surgery!! I am trying really hard but its extremely difficult. As far as the EGD, I had my EGD and I was TERRIFIED. I remember seeing a LONG black hose inthe room prior to my EGD. I looked at the nurse and asked, "Isnt it time for my happy medicine?" She had a needle or two of meds in a syringe. Several minutes later I said, "isnt it time YET for my happy medicine?" She said NOT yet... I then saw her come back in the room with a 3rd needle with meds.. and asked, "What is that third needle with meds for?" She laughed and said, "This is the HAPPY meds for people who are PAINS in the bUTTS..." I remember the first needle with meds going in my IV.. and the next thing I remember is waking up in recovery... MOTTO of the DAY -- BE A PAIN in the bUTT !!!! Stephanie 3 days to go !!
