I called my surgeon, I have to go in for an EGD tomorrow

Apparently I have a stricture. Has anyone had this or can anyone tell me more about it?

I haven't had one personally, but they can and do happen to us RNY's occasionally. It will be fine, they will give you something to make you sleepy, and they will strech out the stoma and give you some relief from the vomiting and nasea. Good luck to you and I will keep you in my prayers. Cindee

Hi Lin, I had a small stricture.......actually just some narrowing. They give you some "sleepy" meds and go in down your throat to "stretch" the narrowing. Sometimes this may need to be done only once to fix the problem and sometimes you will have to do it a few times. It 's not a big deal but you will feel sooooooo much better afterwards.
