WOO-HOO! Approved! (Now if only I could get a date...)
Hi, everyone! I just wanted to share that I've been APPROVED for surgery by BCBS! Yippee!
Unfortunately, that's about where it ends.
This morning, I called Dr. Kennedy's office to speak with Jennifer to find out if my paperwork went out to insurance. The receptionist said she was "away from her desk" (whatever that means -- that office has been kind of shady regarding Jennifer's whereabouts lately) and took a message for her to return my call. By the time 5:00 rolled around, I still hadn't heard from her. So I called BCBS customer service and was told that I had been approved for surgery 8/1/06, but if we were going to do it earlier (definitely!), just give them a call and let them know. Otherwise, I am officially approved.
So, I've been on a liquid diet since Monday (though I cheated Wednesday and had some fajitas that were totally worth it), and I hope to get in touch with Jennifer Monday morning to try to (finally, at last) schedule surgery as soon as humanly possible.
I've just got to say it one more time: YAY!
YAY YAY YAAAAAAAAYY! I am so happy for you. I hope you get your "real" date soon. I know what you mean about the liquid diet, it is so hard. If I could have done this I would not be fat, but anyway I am doing it the best I can. Thank goodness I only have two and half more days of this and then I get to begin the final day before operation diet. Good Luck and keep up the good work with the liquid diet.
Thanks, Cindee and DKJ, I really appreciate your kind thoughts and encouragement. It's been quite a ride, and I'm so glad to have the support of "all-o-y'all" to help get through the rough parts.
D, good luck with the rest of the liquid diet and your upcoming surgery, and please keep me posted on your progress!
Thanks! My greatest aspiration is to become a loser!
In my case, I'll only have about 2 weeks of liquids post-op. But it seems that the post-op liquid diet was more tolerable for you because you always felf full. I, however, am starving! I'm so hungry it's not even funny. The worst part is that I'm still cooking for my husband, who doesn't even know how to fry an egg (he tried to a couple days ago and it was a bad, bad thing), so I'm tempted to cheat every night. But I've been making him really sad-looking stuff, so I guess on some unconscious level I'm making him suffer with me.
