"Extra" Skin..........????
OK...I am going through the approval process right now--waiting to hear from the insurance company. I am only slightly nervous about the procedure itself, but I have heard some whoppers about all of the sagging, extra skin after the weight loss. This is my biggest fear! I have been told that because of my age, (I am 27) this might not be a problem for me. I am quite sure that my insurance isn't going to cover the cost of plastic/reconstructive surgery, so I am worried about how to prevent as much of the skin thing as possible, either with creams, extra exercise, or whatever. I would love to hear about y'all's experiences with this! Thanks so much for any input you share!
I was 28 when I had the surgery and I have plenty of sagging skin. It really depends on how big you are and how long you have been big. I have been big my whole live so my skin was stretched out and it won't go back. Do you have alot of stretch marks because that skin will not go back. If you don't have alot of marks then it may very well go back.

I just looked at your profile. You look wonderful. I'm glad you had such good results. I'm a lot older than you -- I'm 57. I had my surgery in December 2005 and have lost right at 100 lbs. I'm not sure whether I will have plastic surgery but I have time to think about that. I have heard that you should wait about two years -- is that right?
Anyway, who did your plastic surgery? I live in New Orleans and am just wondering which doctor I would go to if I decided -- I would probably want to do my thighs and ARMS. I would love to be able to go sleeveless because it is so hot here.
Thanks.
Dr. Michael Teague of Associates in Plastic Surgery in Baton Rouge. They are located right near Woman's Hospital. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend him. He does incredible work and is SUPER nice too. He will apply for insurance approval whereas some doctors won't because they will get a heck of a lot more $$ if it is coming out of your pocket. He's awesome.
