EXCITING NEWS---EVERYONE REQUESTED TO CALL ASAP

I have managed to get the senate to pass a study resolution. It is sr120. It states that the senate insurance committee will study the feasibility of making it law that all insurance companies will be required to cover WLS. If they find it appropriate they will propose a law for the next session. Then we will take on the insurance lobbist!!!!! Please call your senator and representative asap and ask them to support sr120!!!!! Then we can all have the surgery!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It is about time there was something done for persons with weight issues in this state. I have been employed by the state 30 years and as long as I can remember the state insurance has had a total exclusion on anything regarding weight control. No doctors, no medications, no anything. They would much rather pay for the medical problems created by obesity than controlling it. I am calling today.

Since you are a state employee---I have also been asked to speak to the plan document committee (thats the group that decides on what will be covered) at the meeting in July. Please email me with your contact information I would love to have additional supporters there.

Hey guys-- you can call and write your representatives and senators----especially the members of the insurance committee (you can get a list of who they are on louisiana.Gov) when the time comes we will have to band together to stand up against the insurance lobbyists. They are a really powerful force and they have managed to compromise our health for long enough. I will continue to post and let you know when that is but I know that the next session is in 4/07.

Go to http://www.vote-smart.org/index.htm On the left side of the screen, enter your zip code (it requires 9 digits..if you don't know the following 4 digits after the nine, click on the "don't know your 9 digit zip" link and it will help you. After you enter your zip code, it will give you a list of your senators and representatives. Click on the names and it gives you contact information; either by phone or email, you can let your senators and representatives know you want them to support sr120.
