Hi everyone!

Greetings everyone, I am Stephanie, 36 yr old in Hammond, Louisiana. I have been trying to have gastric bypass for years. I found out in April that my new husband's insurance covers it. I went for my first appt on May 15th at Ochsner. I completed all the tests, ran into some liver damage problems but Melissa at Dr. Richardson's office called me yesterday and informed me that my insurance approved gastric bypass surgery. My surgery date is July 5th. I am elated!!! I have been reading some of your posts and reading your profiles and I am truly inspired. Its great to see all of your successes and I look forward to the same successes soon.... Stephanie

congratulations on your date.. i had mine 6 weeks ago and i am doing absolutely fine just pray and all will go fine. my surgery was a breeze. never took one tylenol for pain, nor any pain med's. just follow your doctors orders.. i will be praying for you Kateri

Hi Stephanie!! Good to have you on our board!! I know you are very excited to be having this surgery, it sure has changed my life. I had mine 7 weeks ago and am already down one size in clothes!! This makes me sooooo happy!! I was a relative "lite" weight compared to others, but I still had over 100 lbs to lose. The difference for me is that I will lose it slower. I wish you much luck on you surgery and if you are ever in the Baton Rouge area, come to our OHLA meeting, last thursday of every month at Independance Park, room 111, by the tennis courts. Cindee

Hey Stephanie...I know you are excited about your date. I will be having mine with Dr Richardson on the 28 of June, so I'll be one week before you. I started my liquid diet yesterday and I don't like it at all. I just keep reminding myself of what I am working for.
