Raw veggies are a little bit of a challenge with the extra chewing, but it's well worth the trip. I did some research on the sugar content in a serving of carrots -- 5 grams.
That's more natural sugar than any other vegetable besides beets, but many nutritional experts warn that it's impossible to eat enough carrots to actually cause an increase in insulin production because carrots are so dense. Keeping your carrots raw is the best way to make sure you don't just suck down a lot of mushy carrots. Because of their dense nature, carrots offer a world of benefit from fiber and anti-oxidents that will help you live longer and ward off certain types of cancer.
I didn't eat a lot of carrots before, but now I'm trying to integrate some shredded or chopped carrots in my salads.
You can actually eat so little, it makes good sense to load up on the nutrient-rich vegetables and your daily protein allotment.
