Medicaid ????
I am working on getting Medicaid but wanted to know if anyone takes this around here?I read Jonne's story and wanted to know if that's the same as Medicare also.I am going to Dr. Ordoyne's meeting next week to see if he takes it.On a better note my sister just got her date with Ordoyne for August. She has her appt. the week before her surgery.I would think it would be sooner?Diane I seen your story in the St. Tammany book and your doing a great job.Keep up the good work.Hopefully I will get this surgery soon...
Dr O does take Medicaid. He did my surgery and he is one of the few who DO take it. The only thing about MC is they want ALL your ducks in a row before approval. SO while you are getting your testing and all... make sure they well document your comorbidities. Get all the documentation you can. That is all they want. And follow up with them if you get a denial. Don't wait for the DR office to do it. You can call the # on your denial notice and they will give you the info you need.
Some comorbidities that MC considers are: high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and spine ailments. Just get your PCP to write a letter giving your comorb and you should do fine. If you are denied.... don't take NO for an answer. Maybe something just didn't get to them, which was what happened in my case.
Good Luck on your quest!!
Patricia
BTW... you'll LOVE Dr O
Thank you!
But you will get this surgery. I believe that in my heart. Everyone who needs this surgery will get it. It took 4 years, but it happened for me.
If you come to the seminar next week come find us there are a few people on here that will be there, Tracy, Christie , me. We are usually in the room down the hall.
Dr O is awesome and I'm so happy your sister has her date with him. Dr. O works so hard for his patients and he takes such good care of us.
I do have to say I'm really glad I had my surgery when I did because I had a date within a month and now that the interest in him is so great the wait is a little longer.
I know nothing about Medicaid, but definitely have all of your ducks in a row and be prepared. If I can help in anyway...........ask!
