Back Home!
I had my surgery on Wed, Jun 7 at 730a at Vista Surgical Hospital with Dr. Bellanger. Things went well. I had some pretty vicious nausea (common for me w/anesthesia) but after they found some phenergan, I was much better. I spent the last few days at my mom and dad's house to get some help with my 4 yo daughter, and we just came home...
So far, the diet has been not hard at all.
The one thing I am having problems with though is pain. And I'm running fever of about 99.5 constantly. Dr. B said I would run that for a few days, but has anyone else had that? It makes me nervous
Also the pain - it's primarily at the large incision site for the port (I was banded). How common was pain for you who were 4 days post op?
Thanks for any and all feedback!
Hi Aimee,
Glad you are home, sorry I can't help with the lapband question. I had RNY. You maybe able to get some help from the Lapband board.

Hi Aimee!
I was banded at Vista nearly two years ago. Welcome to the losers side!
The port incision pain is not like a "lap" site and yes, it does hurt. I had port pain for months and sometime still have some soreness as things shift in that area. There's a muscle involved in the port placement so heat and heating pads does help with the pain. Early on, I needed pain meds and now I use OTC stuff and a heating pad.
I wish you well and hope we can talk about our OHLA support group meetings and exercise class held in Baton Rouge when you are feeling better.
Onward!
Frances
