I had my surgery on Wed, Jun 7 at 730a at Vista Surgical Hospital with Dr. Bellanger. Things went well. I had some pretty vicious nausea (common for me w/anesthesia) but after they found some phenergan, I was much better. I spent the last few days at my mom and dad's house to get some help with my 4 yo daughter, and we just came home... So far, the diet has been not hard at all. The one thing I am having problems with though is pain. And I'm running fever of about 99.5 constantly. Dr. B said I would run that for a few days, but has anyone else had that? It makes me nervous Also the pain - it's primarily at the large incision site for the port (I was banded). How common was pain for you who were 4 days post op? Thanks for any and all feedback!

Welcome home! Unfortunately, I'm still pre-op, and for RNY to boot, so I don't know much about LB. However, I've read a lot of posts from members saying they've had a lot of pain at the port site. When in doubt, call your doctor. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Hi Aimee, Glad you are home, sorry I can't help with the lapband question. I had RNY. You maybe able to get some help from the Lapband board. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/LapBand/ Wishing you the best. Jodi

Hi Aimee! I was banded at Vista nearly two years ago. Welcome to the losers side! The port incision pain is not like a "lap" site and yes, it does hurt. I had port pain for months and sometime still have some soreness as things shift in that area. There's a muscle involved in the port placement so heat and heating pads does help with the pain. Early on, I needed pain meds and now I use OTC stuff and a heating pad. I wish you well and hope we can talk about our OHLA support group meetings and exercise class held in Baton Rouge when you are feeling better. Onward! Frances

Francis, I would love to attend; I tried to attend this week at Dr. B's office but it was either cancelled, or no one came. I know it's at Independence Park in rm 111 on the last thursday of the month (the 29th this month?) but what time? also, what days and times for the exercise? thanks!
