I have a surgery date

Hi everyone, I finally have a surgery date - next Wednesday, June 7th at 1:30. I did my pre-op and consent visit yesterday and everything went well. Please post any suggestions you have for what I need prior to surgery, so I can be as prepared as possible. Thanks, Shanna P.S. Congratulations on your date neighbor. I'm sorry I didn't make it to the meeting last time, we where out of town. I would have loved to meet you. I'm usually there though and hope to make the next one. Hope all goes well with your surgery. I had alot of stuff before surgery but really did not need any of it. I really didn't take much with me, except deodorant, toothbrush/paste, shampoo, your basic toiletry stuff. I took a robe and houseshoes. I wore very lose fitting clothes to the hospital and wore them home. Some say bring a pillow, I did and left it in the car never gave it another thought, I had plenty of the hospitals. I was going to bring a book and left that at home, never wanted to read so it was no big deal. I would really say the most important thing is a robe and slippers and chapstick, this is very important. Oh I almost forgot what I honestly think is the most important thing is a positive attitude. I promise that will get you very far in this journey. Wishing you the best. Jodi

shanna, congrats and best of luck. just pray and all will go fine. i had surgery 5 weeks ago with no complications at all, feel free to read my profile... this surgery was a breeze for me, honestly, it was , no pain at all, and that is the honest to GOD truth........ see ya on the losing side....... Hi Shanna, Just wanted to say goodluck to you. I am also having surgery on June 7 as well at Ochsner in New Orleans. In addition to having the gastric bypass I am having my hiatal hernia repaired as well. Its been a long road to get to this point and finally it is here.
